Lets Eat

The Client

The client was a startup that had tried to launch their idea a few times in the last decade but failed for various reasons.

Their belief is that the best cooks are not always in the best restaurants, sometimes, the best food experience might just be a freshly made home cooked meal from one of your neighbours.

So they set out to build an 'Uber-style' app that would connect eaters to their local neighbourhood cooks.

The Project

This was a relatively straightforward mobile app development. It had to be availabile in both iOS and Android and be completed in 2 months. It also needed to integrate with external delivery partners and, of course, payment platforms.

We used Flutter for quick cross platform development with a containerized backend for all required APIs.

Via multiple rounds of iterations, review and changes, we made sure the customer got exactly what they needed.

The Result

At the time of writing, the customer is carrying out small local roll-outs of the service. The concept being 'local', it is important to generate a critical mass of local offerings and demand, one suburb at a time.

The app's backend is extremly resource and cost effective and maintenance requirements are minimal. This is what we always strive for in a custom development project: not just making the solution work, but ensuring the ongoing maintenance of it will be as efficient as possible.
